FAA AC 65 Series Handbooks

A&P Mechanics:

A&P Mechanics Airframe Handbook

JS312605

The Airframe Handbook is the basis for the part 147 written test. Written in 1972 and updated in 1976, the "15A" is lacking only in modern systems and electronics. For modern systems, use our A&P Technician Airframe Textbook (Item Number JS312603/EA-ITP-A2) on page 54. For larger aircraft systems, Transport Category Aircraft Systems (Item Number JS312631/EA-363) on page 57 is the best source. ISBN# 0-89100-080-1. 632 pages.

A&P Mechanics Powerplant Handbook

JS312608

Published in 1970, updated in 1976, the Powerplant Handbook is used as a supplemental text for the section. Good on big radial engines, the "12A" is a bit short on turbine engines. For better coverage, use our A&P Technician Powerplant Textbook (Item Number JS312694/EA-ITP-P2) on page 55. Aircraft Gas Turbine Powerplants (Item Number JS312648/ EA-TEP-2) on page 58 is best for information regarding turbine engines. ISBN# 0-89100-079-8. 536 pages.
